HP brings together printing, hardware and services for hybrid work

HP launches a new offering that bundles services and hardware for printers and PCs. The new HP Work from Home pack is designed for organizations building permanent hybrid work strategies.

“We have spoken to our customers and end users to understand their challenges,” Sumeer Chandra, global manager and general manager of personal systems services at HP, told reporters this week. “We learn while almost everyone has been able to work remotely, companies are still not ready to support hybrid work in the long term. ”

From an IT perspective, Chandra said, managers and admins have had to oversee devices from a growing number of vendors. For the employees themselves, hybrid working arrangements made it difficult to set up devices, get quick support, and get the right printing and PC supplies. The HP Work from Home bundle is designed to solve all of these problems.

The bundle represents the first time that HP has offered print and PC peripherals and services through a single offering, “but also a basis for enabling more HP services in the future to support hybrid work “.

HP Work from Home can include:

  • Hardware: laptops, desktops, workstations and printers
  • Print services: HP Print Flexworker, next business day response, door-to-door delivery, and automatic supplies replenishment
  • PC Services: HP Proactive Insights to learn more about employee experience, next business day response, home delivery and HP factory services (where devices are preconfigured)
  • Funding: the package is provided in a single contract, with pricing per employee and per month

IT managers can also call on HP Customer Success Managers to provide real-time insight and feedback on how teams can optimize infrastructure. They can also enable device telemetry to improve device visibility and security.

HP is also launching HP Wolf Protect and Trace, a new security service for hybrid work arrangements. It offers a “find your device” function for missing items. IT teams can decide whether any divisions found should be locked down until they can be recovered or cleared. Multiple IT approvers must be involved independently to remotely lock devices and wipe data, ensuring devices remain secure even if a person’s credentials are compromised. IT can respond quickly to reported lost or stolen devices with comprehensive monitoring through the HP TechPulse dashboard.

As the workforce and businesses shift to hybrid ways of working, HP is following suit, said George Brasher, global director and general manager of printing services and solutions for HP.

“Basically, HP is a key technology provider for workers,” he said. “You see a very big pivot towards worker-centric technology versus worker-centric and office-centric devices.”
