Guwahati: The Girijananda Chowdhury-Guwahati Institute of Management and Technology has become the first institute in North East India to be honored with the establishment and operation of the AICTE IDEA Lab.AICTE IDEA (Idea Development, Evaluation and application).
The lab was inaugurated by the Minister of Education of Assam, Ranoj Pegu at the campus of the institute on Saturday, May 28.
The inauguration took place during the All Assam Principals’ Summit at the GIMT-Guwahati campus.
The summit was organized for principals of schools, colleges and polytechnics to interact and present their views on the theme “Scope of Skills Development through IDEA Lab under NEP 2020”.
It can be mentioned that the AICTE IDEA Laboratories are set up to encourage students to apply the fundamentals of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) to enhanced practical experience, learning through practice and even product viewing.
The Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology is an institute offering graduate level technical courses established by the Shrimanta Shankar Academy Society.
It is affiliated with Assam University of Science and Technology.
All bachelor’s degree courses in engineering as well as master’s programs in business administration and master’s in computer application are recognized by AICTE.
